Doris has had extensive experience in Colorado Springs theater. In addition to acting and casting for Red Herring, she works as an historic storyteller, specializing in early Colorado and Colorado Springs stories and characters, and has coached students in acting and presentation. Liz Duckworth has been "acting up" with Red Herring for more than 10 years. Besides performing in murder mysteries for Red Herring throughout the region, she enjoys portraying historical characters such as Poker Alice and Polly Pry. She is a published writer and enjoys historical research in her spare time.
Gene is a ninth-generation descendant of frontiersman Daniel Boone. He was born in the Daniel Boone National Forest in central Kentucky and grew up as a hunter, fisherman, falconer, naturalist/ornithologist. Trained at the Ohio State University, he earned a BS in Natural Resources. He studied Art at Wichita State University and Kent State University. For over 50 years, he has produced falconry equipment, knives and artwork for falconers worldwide. Since 2003, he has performed with Red Herring Productions, an improvisational theater company presenting murder mysteries in venues around Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico. He has performed over 30 characters with Red Herring in 26 different scripts. He feels privileged to meet and perform for audiences interested in experiencing America’s living history.
MJ is in the financial services industry but loves to entertain people and make them smile. She has filled that passion in Colorado Springs by working with Red Herring Productions over the past several years. MJ moved to Colorado Springs in 1998 from Orlando, Florida. While in Orlando, she pursued the hobby of acting and was cast in small roles in films, print, and in commercials.
Camille Lavon Henry
Camille Lavon Henry grew up as an Army brat in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. She attended both Wichita and Emporia State University where she received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Theater Performance. After receiving her bachelors, she toured with Hampstead Stage from New Hampshire to California performing literary classics such as Hamlet, A Christmas Carol, and Oliver Twist. Camille's most memorable roles include Snoopy from You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Bianca from Desdemona, and Cassandra from Trojan Women. Camille wants to thank her loving husband Philip Henry and the Air Force for bringing her to Colorado Springs. She is excited to find herself performing with her first murder mystery dinner theater company, and wants to thank her cast for all of their continual support.
Kathy is from Chicagoland area where she was involved in Community theatre for a number of years. Her favorite role is Ouiser from Steel Magnolias. She also was involved in films and commercials. She moved to Colorado in 2006 and is still involved in community theatre. She loves to make people laugh and that is why she loves doing murder mysteries with Red Herring.
Chris Balitski is happy to be a performing member of Red Herring Productions for over five years. She has recently become a Historical Speaker telling the life story
of Sister Blandina, the nun who took on Billy the Kid. In 2012, she was a principal performer in "Western Fantasy, Stars Over the Rockies" in Denver. She has performed in several Rohrering Success Showcases, also in Denver. Her favorite role was Dream Laurie in "Oklahoma" on the Judy Bayley Theater in Las Vegas. Chris has done local commercials in Colorado Springs, Denver, and Boulder. She was a spokesperson for a national commercial for T Lite. Her film credits include several independent films. She was recently an extra in "Heaven Sent," a major film directed by Michael Landon Jr. A former dancer with training at the Royale Academy in London, Chris is currently a certified Pilates instructor with the YMCA.
